Bonsai
Bonsai care for beginners
Most bonsai problems start with watering on a fixed schedule. Check the soil instead. Water thoroughly when the top starts to dry, then let excess water drain away.
- Place tropical bonsai in bright light and away from cold drafts.
- Use a pot with drainage so roots are never sitting in standing water.
- Prune lightly at first. Let the tree settle before heavy shaping, wiring, or repotting.
- Repot when the tree is healthy and actively growing, not when it is stressed.
